Becky Lee

Becky Lee is the Founder and Artistic Director of Luminous Dance Productions, where she is committed to providing exceptional dance education in a community rooted in joy, artistry, and meaningful mentorship. She founded Luminous with a vision of creating the kind of studio she had always hoped to lead—one where dancers receive excellent technical training while also growing in confidence, character, and a genuine love for the art of dance.

With more than 20 years of experience as a dance educator, Becky has trained recreational, competitive, and pre-professional dancers in a wide variety of styles. Her years of leadership as an instructor and company director have been defined by thoughtful teaching, intentional mentorship, and a commitment to helping every dancer reach their fullest potential, both inside and outside the studio.

Becky’s own artistic journey began with extensive classical ballet training before expanding into jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and commercial dance. As a member of the Columbia City Jazz Company, she performed internationally in Singapore, Germany, Bulgaria, and Austria, representing the United States at the International Tanzsommer Dance Festival and for the European Union. She has remained committed to continual professional development throughout her career, regularly seeking opportunities to grow as both an educator and artist.

In addition to performing professionally with Unbound Dance Company, Becky is a respected guest teacher and choreographer throughout South Carolina and the Southeast, sharing her passion for dance with students of all ages.

The name Luminous was chosen with intention. To Becky, being luminous means recognizing the unique gifts within every person and inspiring them to use those gifts to bring light, joy, and hope to the people around them. She believes dance is a powerful vehicle for helping young people discover confidence, purpose, resilience, and joy—not only for themselves, but so they can, in turn, radiate joy to others.

That belief shapes every aspect of Luminous Dance Productions. While technical excellence and artistic growth remain central to the training dancers receive, Becky is equally passionate about developing compassionate leaders, thoughtful teammates, and confident young people whose character shines just as brightly as their talent. Her greatest hope is that every student leaves the studio not only as a stronger dancer, but as a light in their home, school, community, and wherever life leads them.
